Getting an Online Teaching Degree- Am I Too Old For It
As traditional customs go, we hit college right after high school and then go through the torturous four to six years of tertiary education while it may be the best years of our lives with friends, relationships and parties there’s also the part of homework, assignments, presentations and examinations.
Once those years pass by, it’s time to grow up and step into the real world where people are busy keeping up with the hustle and bustle of work life. Apparently, it just hangs there until retirement.
But then again, I did say traditionally. Well, times have changed since then and there’s no stopping education. If you’ve spent your early years in a bad rut, doing something you don’t like or working because you didn’t have to focus to study or because you couldn’t handle the finances, then it’s time to study.
Are you too old?
Unless you feel your teeth falling out, you’re head bald and you’ve lost most of your senses, you aren’t too old to study – Shocking isn’t it?
So, if you’ve always wanted to get a teaching degree but never had the chance, well this is your opportunity, grab it by the neck and don’t let it go. There is definitely no age limit to enrolling into a teaching school. So if you’re serious about going back to studying, do it online, so it will be easier and cheaper too. It’s time for you to stop regretting the times that have passed and to do what you want to do.
You may be 30, 40, 60 or even 70 years old but as long as you can read, write and have both the interest and dedication, get online now and search through online teaching schools. You wouldn’t be treated any different from the students because of age so never assume that you get anything from the benefit of age.
You too would have to go through the same procedures of applications and you too would need to hand in assignments, coursework and so on. Just because you are a little older, doesn’t mean things will change because believe it or not, you will have the same college experience as those who are 17 or 20 years old.
If you’ve got the passion, what you’ve first got to do is remove that pessimistic thought that you’re too old for a degree. The sky is your personal limit, so as long as you want it, go for it. You may have a few doubts lingering at the back of your mind about whether or not you would be able to handle the studies, but don’t worry because the beauty of online degree programs is that you get to do it at your own pace and at your own time.
So you can keep your regular job and study at the same time. In addition to that, if you’ve already got a little education done, you could look out for accelerated programs and make the 4 years into 2 years or even 1 year for some.
So what are you waiting for, age is just a number, get online and start looking for teaching schools to enroll in and get your online degree in no time! Your life is an occasion, rise to it.
